Our Truro Office
Registered Manager Robyn's comments:
My name is Robyn Hendy, and I am the Registered Manager for Alexandra’s Community Care, Truro and Penryn offices. I first started with the company in 2017, starting as a Community Carer in and around Truro.
I carried out on-call tasks for a period of time before applying for the Deputy Manager’s role - and was successful! I worked for a year as a Deputy Manager enjoying the extra responsibility when I covered for the Manager. This enabled me to take over as Manager of the Truro branch in September 2021.
Alexandra’s is a great place for career progression and the company really encourages individuals to work on their professional development.
Alexandra’s offer a wide range of support and to enable you or a loved one to remain in your own homes as independently as possible, we offer as little as 30 minutes per week to several visits daily.
Our carers are all trained to a high standard by our own training manager to enable us to be able to support people with various complex needs. We are located right in the centre of Truro city and will endeavour to provide a caring efficient service. Our team is your team.
Update Sep 2023: Robyn is currently on maternity leave with Teona providing management maternity cover.

I’ve been working for Alexandra’s for 3 years and was promoted to Team Leader in March 2022, and now I am the Deputy Manager in 2023 and providing Maternity Cover as Manager.
I’ve previously worked in a hair salon and found it unrewarding and I went on to work in a nursing home and found my passion in taking care of people who can no longer take care of themselves and assisting them with their independence.
I found my vocation by working in the community, which I really enjoy and thrive in. I enjoy working as part of a team and support my team in any way I can.
I have two sons aged 10 and 6 who are my world and enjoy going on family adventures with my time off.
I’ve been working for Alexandra’s for 13 months now, was promoted to Team Leader September 2022 and in late 2023 Acting Deputy Manager to cover Teona during Robyn's maternity leave.
I previously worked in the finance sector, due to covid I felt I wanted to do more! I have found a real passion in care, absolutely love my job and building such great relationships with my team and service users.
Outside of work I have my 2 year old blue Staffordshire bull terrier which I rescued from the RSPCA, where we go on lovely walks at the beach or woods.
I first started doing Care in 2019 during Covid. In February 2022, i decided to make the move to Alexandras and give community care a go and LOVED it.
Since joining the team, I have learnt so much from my manager and colleagues and have enjoyed the independence and sense of challenge you get in community work.
When the opportunity for Team Leader came up in March 2023 I applied, and enrolled in my level 3 and was delighted to be offered the position as Team Leader, for our Truro branch!
There is always room for progression within the company, and have felt so supported and encouraged by my team, and manager to strive to better myself and so far, I've achieved it! - I couldn't think of a better team to be a part of, or help lead to greatness!
I started to work for Alexandra's in August 2017 in Falmouth/Penryn branch office. In 2018 The office had to relocate and subsequently the two branches separated, which at the time the hours were more at the Truro Branch so I came across to work for them. I have always worked in administration, however never in the healthcare sector. I have always felt appreciated supported by my managers and colleagues. Which makes office a great place to work.
